“Home of the Peregrine Falcon”

$450.00

Giclee, 600 x 900

This portrays the red sandstone cliffs above the Red River at Bullaringa National Park, near Mt Surprise, North Queensland. My friend was a Parks Ranger, and I spent one Easter there, camping with his family. The falcon watched us the whole time, and we observed him through binoculars.

This was another place where I felt observed by spirits, as well as by the bird. As I painted the rocks, faces kept emerging from my palette knife – I would try to make them less obvious, but they persisted. We felt their presence when we went for our evening swim beneath these cliffs.
