A painting of the first section of the Katherine Gorge, now called by its Aboriginal name, Nitmiluk. This is a National Park in the Northern Territory, and a grand spectacle it is. There are a number of sections of deep water, separated by shallow sections or rapids, over which the canoes must be carried.
